First Review

I thought I'd start off by reviewing a website which I have always considered to be something very special. The thing is, the website I'm going to review really taught me something, and I hope it will teach you something too.

I would like you to think back a moment to the early days of the Internet, before web design software was widely available, before every big company was paying to develop their own websites: back to people sitting typing HTML coding in an attempt to make their own amature homepages. Back in those days a website might have only had coloured text and the odd animated gif to add interest, but at least it was easy to find your way around - you scrolled down, you clicked on the odd hyperlink. The website of today is a jumble of flash buttons, a tangle of links and it's becoming even more interactive, more engaging. Bigger! Bolder! Louder! However some websites get it oh so wrong, making their pages into convoluted monsters, turning people away because they simply can't find their way around for all the glitter.

Sometimes less really is more, and here is an example of this philosophy at work. This website can really teach those budding website designers out there something. The coding behind it is very simple, and yet the sleek design of the page makes it a joy to navigate. The information is just there, ready to be absorbed by the viewer.

I give it rating of Toasty Warm on the Flammable Scale. It loses out on the higher ranks because it has a slight lack of content.

If this website really gets to you and teaches you something, please feel free to comment and leave your own ideas, we love getting feedback!
